Visit Hyde Park and Picture the Possibilities

When families visit Hyde Park Schools, the details begin to speak for themselves. You might notice young students learning a song about Jesus, a teacher kneeling beside a desk to encourage a child one-on-one, or students leaning into discovery in classrooms that come alive with discussion and collaboration.

These glimpses matter because you are not just choosing a school for today. You are picturing the place where your child will grow year after year in faith, academics, and character.

A visit to our private Christian school in Austin helps you imagine that future clearly, showing how your investment will shape your child’s story for years to come.

What to Expect on Your Visit

Hyde Park Schools has two campuses in Austin, and your tour will take place at the location that matches your child’s grade level. Families applying to 4K through 8th grade will visit the Lower School Campus, located in central Austin near the University of Texas. Families applying to 9th–12th grade will tour the Upper School Campus, a 58-acre property with state-of-the-art facilities and a park-like, serene atmosphere.

During your visit, our Admissions team — the same people who will walk with you through the application process — will personally guide you through classrooms, chapel spaces, playgrounds, athletic fields, and arts facilities. When we first came to tour the school, we had no idea what we were stepping into. Looking back, it’s clear that God knew exactly what our family needed, even when we didn’t. This school has been so much more than just a place of learning—it’s been a beautiful blessing to our family. The love, support, and encouragement we’ve found here feel like home. We are truly grateful for the way this community has helped our children grow not only in knowledge, but in character and faith."

Should we bring our child along on the tour?

Many families find it helpful for children to visit with them. If you’re unsure, our Admissions team can guide you on what will be best based on your child’s age and grade.

How long does a tour last?

Most tours last about an hour, giving you time to see classrooms, chapel, and facilities, while also leaving space for your questions.

Can a student shadow before they apply?

Yes, this is an excellent way to decide if Hyde Park is a good fit for your child before starting the application process. You can also shadow at any time during the process.

What does it mean for a student to shadow?

Prospective students who are interested in 6th-12th grade are required to come on campus for a half-day student shadow experience. Shadowing students will accompany a current Hyde Park student for 3-4 class periods, not including lunch.
