Student Leadership

Empowering
Students

Leadership is found inside every child that walks the halls of Hyde Park Schools. We firmly believe that. Part of our job is to find it, foster it, develop it, and watch it flourish. No two students are the same and no two students need the same intentional individual development. We meet each student where they are and encourage them into the next level of leadership. There are a myriad of opportunities for students to explore and try their leadership skills alongside faculty and staff who mentor them into finding their own. Whether it is through clubs and organizations, chapel buddies, MS House leadership, HS band, or captains of athletic teams, there is a space for each student and a staff willing to come alongside them. A few examples are below.

Leadership Opportunities

  • Student Panther Partners
Each year, Upper Elementary students have the opportunity to mentor a younger student. Our Panther Partners meet together for morning meeting time twice a month and sit together in chapel once a month. During these times, our students get to know each other through various activities inside and outside of the classroom. Upper Elementary students become role models to our younger Panthers by modeling what it looks like to love one another, show respect, grow their minds and worship the Lord.
  • 5th Grade Carline Helpers
A space for our 5th grade students to serve other elementary students leading through a servant’s heart in the morning greeting our younger students.
  • Chapel Leaders
Each week students ranging from 4K-5th grade lead our chapel in scripture reading and praying over our weekly birthday friends.

Leadership Opportunities

  • House Leaders
The Middle School House system exists to promote a unified culture of togetherness and community for our Middle School Students. We strive to create a Christ -centered community by which integrity and love are practiced and community relationships among students and with faculty are cultivated, developed, and fostered in accordance with our core values
  • Hyde Park Leadership Club
A club for Middle School students to not only connect with each other but learn about leadership skills and put them into practice among the larger student body.
  • Chapel Leaders
Students are coached in how to speak in front of others and how to lead their peers in Chapel.

Leadership Opportunities

  • Student Council
Our High School Student Council works with the campus administration to partner to meet the ever-changing needs of our students.
  • Fellowship of Christian Athletes:
Our chapter of FCA is a prime opportunity for students to discover what living out their faith within their athletic performance truly means.
  • Honor Society Clubs
From American Sign Language to Theater, there are plenty of opportunities for students to achieve and progress within the classroom and apply this knowledge outside of the classroom.
  • President and Founder of any interest
By empowering students to follow their passions, Hyde Park students have the opportunity to found almost any club about which they are passionate. We have made the pathway to leadership supportive and inviting so all students can explore these skills.
