4K Program at Hyde Park Schools
Age 4 by Sept. 1
If you’re searching for a private Christian program for your 4-year-old, chances are you’re asking some big questions: Will my child be ready for kindergarten? Are they going to be truly cared for and not just supervised? Will this school reinforce the values we teach at home?
At Hyde Park Schools, we understand. Our 4K and 4K Flex programs are intentionally designed to give your child more than a place to pass the time. With academic structure, responsive teaching, and faith woven into every day, your child will take confident steps toward kindergarten in a safe, Christ-centered environment that feels like family.
We equip our youngest learners with the tools they need to explore the world around them. Below, you’ll find a brief overview of what we offer, including:

The learning environment at Hyde Park
We partner closely with parents to create a nurturing, faith-filled environment where young children feel safe, known, and excited to learn. Whether it’s their first school experience or a stepping stone toward kindergarten, we meet children right where they are and help them grow in independence and character.
Inside our 4K (full day) and 4K Flex (shorter day) classrooms, you’ll find:

Responsive teaching: Every day begins with a morning meeting grounded in our Responsive Classroom approach where children learn how to greet others, take turns, listen well, and build classroom community. Biblical character traits are woven into the response classroom approach.
Faith woven into learning: Our curriculum is rooted in a biblical worldview, which means that we see remnants of the truths of Scripture through all subjects. Our Bible curriculum starts in the Jesus Storybook Bible where we look to foster a love for the stories of Scripture and the overarching theme of the love of God. We invite students into a love for worship through our weekly chapels as a community where parents are encouraged to join us!
Small class sizes: With a maximum student-teacher ratio of 10:1, your child will be known personally and supported in every area of development.
Hands-on exploration: Students move through centers, partner work, and active play — from phonics dances and Play-Doh sculpting to counting games and STEM activities.
Your child will also enjoy daily outdoor play on our secure campus, with time built into the schedule for movement, fresh air, and social development. Whether they’re climbing, running, or exploring with friends, outdoor time at Hyde Park is an important part of the day when students form meaningful connections while staying active.
Program Options That Fit Your Family

Both of my girls thrived in the 4K program in every possible way. Their academic and social development began in the Hyde Park 4K classroom - it was such a great beginning to all the growth we’ve had at HP"
